Thank you for your interest in the Tamworth Country Music Festival Trip – This letter is your invitation to join us:
The Tamworth Country Music Festival is one of the biggest and longest running music events in Australia celebrating 51 years. You are in for a treat.
Start – pick up from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Tweed Heads in the morning – Wednesday Jan 24th, 2024. Exact time and pick up location will be depending on numbers. We will advise 1 week before.
Convoy 574km (one way) – 7 hours’ drive, direct to Tamworth – comfort stops along the way.
We have group vehicles, or you can tag along in convoy in your own Campervan. Please advise your preference when booking.
Arrive – Tamworth campsite at approx 5pm.
Set up camp.
We will be stopping along the way for a lunch break – not provisioned. Wednesday night we will set up camp and head out to a pub for some dinner – supplied.
The camp kitchen will be operational for meals from Thursday morning (Day 2). Coffee, Tea, Water always available.
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING THERE
Listening to Country Music, exploring all the events and attending some paid events. Drinking, eating good food, talking, wearing our cowboy hats and boots. Enjoying camp festival life.
We plan on attending two ticketed events. Our first choice is Casey Barnes Wednesday night at the Longyard. There are other big artists also preforming such as: Lee Kernagan, John Williamson, Kasey Chambers, The Wolfe Brothers, Troy Caser-Daley etc. Tickets for these events are not included in our trip cost as we are giving everyone flexibility to choose what performance you would like to see. Please note that tickets are on sale now and may sell out.
There is plenty of free entertainment all around the town at pubs and venues, you do not need to attend a ticketed event.
We will be putting together a guide for the group for the best events to attend or best venues and we hope you will travel with the group for most of the events. However, you are welcome to head off on your own if there is a particular event you wish to attend. We will try to be accommodating with transport or advise on alternative transport services around camp. If travelling to events with the group, your transport will be provided.
There is also the cavalcade down the main street on Saturday and several popular landmarks to visit like the Hands of fame.
The whole 5 days we are there is action packed.
ACCOMMODATION AND AMENITIES
There are three choices for accommodation. We will be staying at the riverside camping grounds in Tamworth. The campsite is very central to Tamworth. Facilities such as toilets and showers are provided.
1. Tent provided by us per person or couple or twin share. These tents you can stand up and there is plenty of room for one or two people. An air mattress is also supplied.
2. Bring your own campervan
We will be traveling in modern vehicles or campervans to Tamworth so we will have a bit of a country convoy going. Self-drive is only available if you are bringing your own campervans. Spaces limited – please advise if interested.
We will carry appropriate safety gear for this trip.
Extensive first aid kit, rescue plan, COVID19 Plan, iperb beacon, UHF two-way radios.
We will supply bulk natural spring water during the trip at base camp.
Please advise us of any medical issues before the trip that we should know about if you need medical attention.
WHAT TO BRING
Following payment we will send you a packing list. Sleeping bag, pillow, sheets, and blanket required. Head Torch. More items will be advised in the What to Bring Message.
Dinner will be provided – Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat.
Breakfast will be provided Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun morning
We do not provide lunch. We recommend you sample the festival food for lunch options, pub lunches, local café’s or bring your own.
We serve traditional camping meals and some gourmet type camping meals. You will love the food. Please advise if you have any specific dietary requirements when booking.
TRANSPORT AROUND THE FESTIVAL
There are transport passes for hop on and hop off services which we purchase for you, but we will also be helping with transport around the venues as well.
END – We will leave Tamworth at 2pm on Sunday. Eta to drop off’s in Tweed, Gold Coast and Brisbane are by 10-11pm. We will stop along the way for comfort breaks and a dinner stop (not provisioned)

Sharon and Patrick
Bit of background about Patrick and Sharon. Patrick has been a manager in thousands of events at motor racing, Olympics, theme parks, other major event’s, five-star hotels and convention centers. When not travelling, Patrick works as a safety consultant for the last ten years. He has 3 children (all under the age of 18)
Sharon has a background in event management working for local Radio stations and the Department of Trade and Industry. When not travelling she runs a cake decorating business.
Together we have travelled to over 40 countries and have done large parts of Australia. We still have plenty more to see and can’t wait to show you what we know.
We work very hard to provide an enjoyable, unique, and valuable experience for those who choose to attend our events. These trips are a good value opportunity for those with similar interests to enjoy a few days away at some great locations. We really enjoy the organizing them and meeting you.
